Analysis of institutional constraints for the implementation of rural, environmental, and agricultural policies

The post-doctorate will be member of a team of institutional economists based in Cemagref Clermont-Ferrand. This team is dedicated to the study of amenities and dynamics of rural and periurban areas. As a member of this team, the post-doctorate will join the EU Integrated Project « System for Environmental and Agricultural Modelling; Linking European Science and Society (SEAMLESS) » (www.seamless-ip.org).
Here, she/he will work together with researchers from Humboldt University Berlin (Germany) and LEI in Wageningen (Netherlands) on the conceptualization and testing of a procedure for institutional compatibility assessment of rural, environmental, and agricultural EU policies. The work will particularly consist of:
- Elaborating and validating policy-related institutional constraints and developing of appropriate indicators.
- Preparing and conducting regional case studies to test the results of the institutional analysis of policy options within the SEAMLESS Integrated Framework.
- Evaluating the results of environmental and economic simulation models within the SEAMLESS Integrated Framework from an institutional economics perspective.
- Contributing to exchanges with other members of SEAMLESS project.
These research activities will permit scientific publications, notably in institutional economics.
